After her rescue and recovery from the quadruple amputation surgery, Chi Chi was adopted by a family in Arizona. She went on to become a Certified Therapy Dog and the 2018 American Hero Dog.

After recovering from the quadruple amputation surgery, Chi Chi traveled by plane from South Korea to Los Angeles. The primary veterinarian that cared for her, Dr. Lee, and the woman that runs the rescue, Juyun Yu, accompanied her on the trip from South Korea.
